The Portuguese airline will fly twice a week between Catalonia and the United States at a promotional price of 500 euro

El Prat Airport has sounded out the Americas. Without a flag carrier connecting Barcelona with the world, the facility is seeing how companies from around the globe are choosing the Catalan capital for their long-haul operations. The last, Azores Airlines, who will fly between Boston and the Mediterranean city from March 2017.

The company has already put on sale tickets for a route that will have two weekly frequencies and will make a technical stopover in the Portuguese archipelago. For its promotion the company has launched a campaign with prices of 500 euros return valid until 15 December.

Thus, the airline’s Airbus - initially it will be an A310 – will depart from Massachusetts on Tuesdays and Fridays at 20:50 and land at 12:45 pm the next day. An hour later, at 13:45, it will take off from El Prat to arrive at Logan International Airport at 19:05 on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
