Level is to take delivery of three new Airbus A330-200 aircraft next year, as the carrier looks to expand operations.

The carrier’s parent company International Airlines Group (IAG) has confirmed it is converting three options for the aircraft into firm orders, for delivery in summer 2018.

Level started transatlantic services from Barcelona in June, initially using two A330 aircraft operated by Iberia crew.

At the time of the launch IAG’s CEO Willie Walsh said that “Level sales have exceeded our expectations”, adding that other European bases were being considered.

In a statement confirming the A330-200 order Walsh said:

“Level has already been incredibly successful and these aircraft will enable it to expand. Long-haul flights are now available to many people for the first time and we’re extremely pleased with the customer response in all of Level’s markets. It will continue to stimulate demand by providing people with more choice.”

The carrier recently announced plans to increase it Barcelona-Buenos Aires service to five flights per week from October 29.
