Gulf carrier Qatar Airways has increased its stake in International Airlines Group (IAG) from 15.67% to 20.01%, on what it called an attractive buying opportunity, the company announced Aug. 1.

Qatar said it owned the bigger stake in IAG as of July 28. IAG is the parent company of British Airways (BA), Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus, Madrid-based Iberia and Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling. Doha-based Qatar originally acquired a 9.99% stake in IAG in January 2015.
