China’s Hainan Airlines (HNA) reported a net income of CNY3.1 billion ($446 million) for 2016, up 3.3% over a net profit of CNY3 billion in 2015.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 6.9% in January 2017 compared to the year-earlier period. While this was down from the 10% annual growth recorded in December 2016 it still was well above the average annual growth rate of 3% over the past five years.

Barcelona, March 27, 2017 - Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas, in commercial cooperation with Cubana de Aviación has been designated to operate regular flights to Cuba from Barcelona by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation Spain. Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas will operate the non-stop direct route Barcelona - Havana from the 1st of July with a weekly frequency.
