As expected, Boeing has delivered the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner of the company to JAL. What was not expected was that they would be two planes.

All Nippon Airways, ANA, is no longer the only operator of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Its competitor in Japan, Japan Airlines, JAL, also has its first two models, delivered by Boeing in a double ceremony in Everett where the factory of these planes is located.

JAL’s Boeing 787 Deamliners are the first to have General Electric GEnx engines, and with them, JAL will open new routes it has not yet flown to, starting with Boston (April) and San Diego (end of year) from Tokyo.

The Boeing 787 with GEnx engines was certified by the FAA on March 10.
