The Port of Barcelona has put into operation a new berth to unload oil products for boats up to 250 metres in length, with an investment of eight million euros.

As reported today by the Port of Barcelona, this service has been launched at the Alvarez de la Campa dock, will serve the Hydrocarbon Logistics Company (CLH) and completes the other docking point CLH is already using at the port.

The installation enables access for vessels up to 250 meters long and 14 meters deep, with a maximum weight of 125,000 tons, making it suitable for all vessels carrying this type of product.

The company CLH has installed in the new dock a total of six loading arms for handling all common oil products.

With these new facilities, CLH intends to use the Port of Barcelona as a 'hub' for reception and distribution of oil products and, after unloading, product distribution will be made by truck or by pipeline to El Prat airport or different points on the mainland.
