Of the Top Ten ranking countries in the world in wind power technology exports, Spain ranks fifth after Germany, China, Denmark and the United States, and is ahead of Japan, France and the United Kingdom.

According to the United Nations Organization, in 2010 Spain exported wind towers, blades and turbines worth € 1.8 billion. Between 2000 and 2010 Spanish wind power industry exports increased eightfold, from € 313 million to € 2.36 billion.

The Spanish wind energy association AEE also notes that Spanish wind exports exceed those of other distinguished Spanish sectors like footwear, wine and olive oil.
