Routes Asia is the only route development event dedicated to the Asia Pacific region.
The 17th Routes Asia was hosted by the Philippine Department of Tourism in in Cebu, Philippines (10 - 12 March 2019). The Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) was the primary government agency responsible for the development and promotion of the tourism industry.
The PDOT has developed the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) to guide the public and private sector managers on key tourism development programmes. The NTDP highlights the strategy of improving air connectivity from major tourist source markets to the Philippines. The PDOT aims to further develop and promote the secondary gateways in the country. More new routes mean more travel options for international visitors, and more international visitors mean more opportunities for the locals.
In support of this, the government issued the Executive Order No. 29 which provided foreign air carriers with unlimited access to the country’s secondary international airports in terms of capacity, frequency, and aircraft type.
The PDOT looks forward to working with strategic partners in increasing flight frequency and seat capacity from source markets to key airports in the Philippines.
Each year, it attracts the region’s senior decision makers positioning it as the must-attend event for all those interested in discussing new and existing air services and meeting with the industry's key players.
Attracting senior decision makers from the region's air service development community, Routes Asia provides the perfect platform to expand your connections and discuss route development opportunities.
