The Barcelona Air Route Development Committee (BARDC) and Barcelona 2017 World Routes Committee had the opportunity to receive a delegation from the city of Chengdu, the host of World Routes this year. The delegation was made up of the Vice Mayor of Chengdu, some Government members of the Department of Affairs of Chengdu and Qingbaijiand District, and also the city’s Chief of the Port and Logistics Division.
The delegation showed its interest in collaborating in the handover ceremonies to take place in their World Routes Forum between Barcelona and them. They also showed great interest in trade between both cities and proposed to connect them by air in the very near future.
They also announced that a new, additional airport is expected to be built, enabling them to have a much greater capacity. Chengdu is in west China, making it a gateway between China and Europe and is the 4th China airport.
