Norwegian Group CEO: Growth has been greatest on long haul routes
Norwegian goes another month with more than 3 million passengers. In total, more than 3.1 million passengers traveled with the company during October, an increase of 14 % compared to the same Monday last year. Growth is greatest on intercontinental lines with an increase of 56 per cent.
A total of 3 148 511 passengers flew with Norwegian in October, 381 768 more (14 %) than the same month last year. Total traffic growth (RPK) increased by 29 % and capacity growth (ASK) by 31 %. The cabin factor was 87.4 %.
“It is gratifying that more and more passengers choose Norwegian when they go out and travel. Growth is greatest on the company’s long-distance routes and we have stable demand. There is still fierce competition and global expansion is therefore important for strengthening competitiveness, “says Bjørn Kjos, Norway’s CEO.
Norwegian carried 99.4 percent of the scheduled flights in October and the punctuality was 78.3 %. Norwegian continues to renew the aircraft fleet. In October, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was delivered. With an average age of 3.6 years, Norway’s fleet is among the most modern and environmentally-friendly in the world.
