Barcelona airport reaches the sixth position in volume of passengers accumulated in the period until August 2019.

Barcelona airport reaches the sixth position in volume of passengers accumulated in the period until August 2019. The change of 1 position has been the stagnation of Istanbul due to the change of airport (Istanbul has opened a new airport recently moving its traffic there). Note that in O&D traffic, without counting the connecting passenger, Barcelona is in third position after London Heathrow airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle. There is still place to grow in connecting passengers compared to its European competitors.
