Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Turkish Airlines starting operations in Spain
Turkish Airlines 25 years operating the Barcelona - Istambul route

Turkish Airlines (TK)  is celebrating its 40th anniversary of operating in Spain. 25 years operating the Barcelona - Istanbul route, at the Marriott Auditorium Hotel in Madrid. With this celebration, they reaffirm their commitment.

Turkish Airlines connects #Barcelona and #Istanbul with 25 weekly frequencies from Monday to Friday, representing 3-4 flights a day.

Turkish Airlines, is known for being the airline that flies to most countries in the world.

Among those attending on behalf of TK were the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, Prof. Ahmet Bolat, together with various Turkish Airlines executives, the Turkish Ambassador to Spain, Nüket Küçükel Ezberci.

As a special guest, the well-known actress Melis Sezen, well known for the series 'Unfaithful', attended the event. In addition, a tourist and historical exhibition Göbeklitepe Zero Point in Time was held, showing the magic of the Turkish country.

In 2023, more than 680,000 passengers chose Turkish Airlines to fly between Spain and Istanbul. The airline expects to increase this figure over the coming months, as it will increase its flight capacity in Spain by more than 10% during 2024.

About the airline: Turkish Airlines is the national airline of Türkiye and the country's largest carrier. Turkish Airlines operates a network of domestic and regional services throughout Türkiye and the Middle East and international services to Europe, Africa, North America, South America and Asia. The carrier operates passenger services via its main hub at Istanbul Airport as well as secondary hubs at Esenboga International Airport and Adnan Menderes International Airport. The carrier transferred its hub operations from Ataturk Airport to the new Istanbul Airport under a phased programme completed in mid-2019. Turkish Airlines is also a member of the Star Alliance.  In Jun-2022, Türkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan advised of plans to rebrand Turkish Airlines as Türkiye Hava Yolları.
