Barcelona, 26 May 2023 - LEVEL, a long-haul, low-cost airline based in Barcelona, closed the month of April as the leading operator at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport regarding the number of people transported on long-haul routes.
During that month, the airline transported a total of 55,000 thousand people on the six routes it operates from Barcelona to America, according to the Barcelona Route Development Committee (BARDC). And all this, with punctuality rates of 90% according to data from Cirium, the leading international consultancy for this type of measurement.
Specifically, during this summer season 2023, LEVEL will reinforce its offer in the United States, where it increased its seat offer by 20% compared to the same period last year, and maintains the route to Santiago de Chile during the summer period. This route will be operated annually with three weekly frequencies from June onwards. In addition, LEVEL also continues to connect Barcelona and Buenos Aires this season, with up to six weekly frequencies. With this offer for the summer season, LEVEL is also configured as the first long-haul operator in as the leading long-haul operator in terms of capacity at El Prat airport.
In addition to the direct routes operated by LEVEL, by feeding the short and medium-haul network of Vueling, another of IAG's airlines, it contributes to consolidating Barcelona airport's position as an intercontinental hub, offering connecting routes to bring LEVEL's destinations in America closer to Vueling's domestic and European destinations, thus improving the connectivity of the cities served by both airlines.
