Barcelona-Dakar is the new international connection of the Josep Tarradellas – Barcelona El Prat airport by the air company Air Senegal.

Barcelona, December 12, 2019: Barcelona-Dakar is the new international connection of the Josep Tarradellas – Barcelona El Prat airport by the air company Air Senegal.

Air Senegal started operations with 3 weekly frequencies (Mondays, Thursday and Saturday) operated by Airbus 330 neo

Air Senegal has decided to make a combined route so the flight will be direct from Barcelona to Dakar but from Dakar to Barcelona, it will be via Marseille. Feeding two markets.

About company:

Air Senegal is the flagship carrier of Senegal. The airline founded by the Sengalese Government to replace Senegal Airlines, which ceased operations in Mar-2016 following the withdrawal of its air operator's certificate. The new airline was created with XOF40 billion (USD68.8 million) in capital, which is expected to increase to XOF100 billion (USD172 million). The carrier operates ATR72-600 aircraft, and signed a MoU for two A330neos in Nov-2017. Charter services commenced on 30-Apr-2018, and commercial operations on 14-May-2018.
