Etihad made a presentation on the status of the company post covid. The 2023 results were exceptionally good, carrying +14 million passengers with a net profit of 394 million US $. Their target for 2030 is to have 160 aircraft for 125 destinations and to reach 33 million passengers.
All this is also possible thanks to the large investment made by the emirate with the new Abu Dhabi airport, inaugurated in November 2023.
Since 24 March, the airline has increased to 10 flights a week with a plan to reach 14 weekly, 2 flights a day, in the short term.
The use of the 787 Dreamliner provides them with above-standard product quality and sustainability.
Its HUB, Abu Dhabi, provides Barcelona with extensive connectivity to the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
The company started operating the Barcelona - Abu Dhabi route in November 2019, with 4 weekly frequencies that had to be increased to 7 after two months due to the high demand.
Participating media: Javier Ortega Figueiral (La Vanguardia/freelance), Paula Clemente ( El Periódico), Cristina Martín (The New Barcelona Post) and Joan Garcia (Catalunya Radio).
This media presentation was made at the Hotel Pulitzer Barcelona with the support of the Barcelona Air Route Development Committee (BARDC)
