It marks a milestone in the city’s international connectivity, both for passengers and for air cargo. This achievement is the result of intensive joint efforts between the airline and the Barcelona Air Routes Development Committee (CDRA), which comprises the Government of Catalonia, Aena – the airport operator of Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport – the Barcelona City Council, and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, with the support of strategic entities such as the Catalan Tourist Board, ACCIÓ, and Turisme de Barcelona.
In line with the CDRA’s 2024–2025 Strategic Plan, this connection strengthens one of the Committee’s key objectives: to enhance air links between Barcelona and China in order to stimulate new business opportunities, reinforce the tourism and business industries, and consolidate the Catalan capital as a European gateway to the Asian market.
