Korean Air launches new route connecting Barcelona and Seoul
Barcelona, April 28, 2017 – The Barcelona Air Route Development Committee (BARDC) will give the welcome to the first flight of Korean Air which will link Barcelona and Seoul. This first flight will arrive today at 19:00h local time in the Barcelona el Prat Airport and will link both two cities with 3 weekly frequencies on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The flight will be operated with an Airbus B777-200ER with a capacity for 248 seats, 8 open suites for first class, 28 in business and 212 seats in economy. The new flight is the result of a thorough analysis of the market that shows a growing passenger demand over the past five years between the two cities. The compound growth rate (CAGR) of air traffic between Barcelona and Seoul 2010-2016 has been 30.3%, the figure increased by 36% to 207,000 passengers. In addition, the traffic of passengers traveling in business class has grown from 4% to 7% in 2016.
Barcelona – Seoul was the first unserved destination by yearly indirect passengers in 2016.
