Barcelona’s digital ecosystem companies move the record figure of 1,200 million euros per year.
Barcelona has consolidated itself as the favourite destination for venture capital. The “Maturity of Venture Capital in Spain” report describes that during the last 7 years 63% of the funding rounds of more than 10 million euros in the technology start-ups sector in the State remained in Catalonia. In particular, Barcelona hosts the 56% of the total investments carried out in this sector in the last three years.
The strength of Barcelona as an investment attraction is proved by the fact that 28.4% of the start-ups that were installed in Spain during the last three years, chose the Catalan capital to set up their flagships. This percentage means an attraction of 2,663 new technology companies.
